Office Policies

A description of our general office policies is provided below. Many of your questions about your first visit will be answered here. Please understand that each practitioner may vary slightly in their practice management style.

SCHEDULING

We do not handle any scheduling via email. For any scheduling issues, we ask that you please call the office, and leave a message. Our secretary will call you back. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. The office phone number is 650-529-0304.

YOUR VISIT

Initial Visit:
Duration 1 – 1½ hours depending upon the patient and practitioner.
A thorough history, structural evaluation, and pertinent physical exam are included.
Osteopathic Treatment of 35-40 minutes is always provided with each visit.

Follow-up Visit:
Duration 45 minutes
A directed history, structural evaluation, and pertinent physical exam are included.
Osteopathic Treatment of 35-40 minutes is always provided with each visit.

FORMS

No forms are required to be filled out prior to your first visit.

CANCELLATIONS

A courtesy of 24 hours notice is required for any cancellations. Charges will apply for any visit that is not cancelled within 24 hours.

PAYMENT

Payment is required at the time of the visit. Payments are by check or cash only. Credit Cards and  Debit Cards are not accepted. Please consult with our secretary for the most recent fees.

INSURANCE

We do not accept any insurances. We are not in any insurance networks. We do not accept Medicare, MediCal or Workman’s Compensation. We will provide you with a superbill for insurance reimbursement.

CLOTHING

Please wear comfortable loose clothing without heavy seams, or heavy fabric. Sweats and a T-shirt are always best. Please wear or bring a fresh pair of socks with you.

FRAGRANCES

Please do not wear any fragrances, so we may be allergy free for those patients with sensitivities.

CELL PHONES

We ask that you do not make or receive cell phone calls inside the office waiting room. Please turn off or mute your cell phones during the treatment session.

IF YOU ARE SICK WITH A COLD OR FLU

Please call to reschedule if you are sick with a cold or flu.  Because we work in such close proximity with each patient, and these infections are passed on through touch, it is unfair to the next patient to be exposed. We appreciate your understanding.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

We are actively implementing policies to limit exposure to the coronavirus. Thank your your assistance in ensuring the health and safety of us all.

TREATMENT

A description of the treatment process.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

A description of what to expect and how to behave in the days following osteopathic treatment.

EXERCISES

A summary sheet of non-impact exercises, initially presented by Dr. Robert Fulford, with the intention of maintaining structural freedom.

HIPAA POLICY

The posting of our office privacy policy is a requirement for all health care professionals.
