2018 Sutherland Memorial Lecture
Dr. William Garner Sutherland, was born in 1873, and left this earth in 1954 at the age of 81. An early student of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, Dr. Sutherland expanded osteopathy to include the cranium. The Sutherland Memorial Lecture has been presented annually by esteemed members of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy (OCA) since 1958. The OCA is pleased to present this year’s Sutherland Memorial Lecturer, Dr. Mark Rosen.
Robert Fulford, DO FCA
Robert Fulford, DO FCA (1905-1997), one of my favorite teachers during my early years of training in Osteopathy, practiced osteopathic medicine until the age of 89. He left this earth at the age of 91. Dr. Fulford was a profoundly effective osteopathic physician who inspired many generations of DO’s to excel in this most promising medical practice. Osteopathic Research on Heart Disease
Though this video may look antiquated by todays standards, it provides a remarkable demonstration of the effects of somatic dysfunction on cardiac anatomy and physiology. Osteopathy, a uniquely American phenomenon, emerged in the late 19th century. It’s relevance is timeless. It is well worth the patience required to see this video through to its end. ALF Therapy
The Advanced Light Force dental appliance was developed by a dentist who asked a simple yet profound question: Why do some orthodontic techniques create a synergy with the body and others create obstacles to health and function? Dr. Darick Nordstrom developed the ALF appliance with the goal of improving the overall health, beauty and function for the patient while providing a simple, effective and easy to wear family of dental appliances.
